First Quarter Highlights:

Renal Care Group, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:RCGI - news) today announced results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2000.
Mr. Sam Brooks, president and chief executive officer of Renal Care Group, Inc., said, ``Consistency, profitability and strong operating performance are the hallmarks of our company and major contributors to an exceptional first quarter. This quarter is our 17th consecutive quarter in which earnings per share increased 20% or more. Revenues for the quarter ended March 31, 2000, increased 19% to $144.3 million compared with revenues of $120.9 million for the same period in 1999. Net income before merger expenses increased 26% to $15.1 million, or $0.32 per share, an increase of 23% in earnings per share over the same period last year.
Same-store treatment and same-store revenue growth were 8.4% and 12.7%, respectively, for the three months ended March 31, 2000. In addition, in April 2000, the Company completed the previously announced acquisition of Renal Disease Management by Physicians, Inc. of Youngstown, Ohio. The acquisition will be treated as a pooling of interests for accounting purposes.
Mr. Brooks added, ``We interpret the solid results achieved in the first quarter as confirmation of our expectations for continued strong performance throughout the remainder of the year. In short, we believe the Company is well positioned to improve the quality of life for dialysis patients and reward its shareholders.''
