STAT MANAGEMENT CORP ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE

New Identity Reflects Focus on Comprehensive Wound Care

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS ¾ STAT Management Corp., which administers over 22,000 wound care and hyperbaric treatments annually, has announced a name change to more accurately reflect the Company's comprehensive wound and other medical treatment services.

The new name-Integrated Wound Care Systems-becomes effective September 30, 1998.  The Company remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Renal Care Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: RCGI) of Nashville, Tennessee, a publicly traded company dedicated to providing optimal care for patients with chronic and acute renal disease.  No management, personnel or operational changes are expected in conjunction with the name change.

"The name change, combined with a new company logo, will contribute to our objective of increasing our name recognition in a growing, specialized segment of healthcare," said David Perez, vice president and chief operating officer of Integrated Wound Care Systems.  "We will continue to provide comprehensive, high-quality wound care and hyperbaric services to the 12 hospitals in Texas and Arkansas that currently utilize our program, as well as expand into new markets."

Integrated Wound Care Systems offers a low-risk, capital-free opportunity for hospitals to provide an outpatient Wound Center.  The Company provides all hyperbaric and wound care equipment, patient care and management personnel, strategic marketing services, quality assurance support and assistance with reimbursement.  Multi-disciplinary care teams of physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals with advanced training in wound care are essential components of the program.  With the technologies available through the Wound Center, patients receive an individualized treatment plan that optimizes effectiveness and convenience.

Conditions that are treated in the Company's specialized wound centers include selective problem wounds in diabetics, problem surgical wounds, crush injuries, thermal burns, radiation tissue damage, skin grafts and flaps, carbon monoxide poisoning, smoke inhalation, to name a few.
